A cottage for rent in Sweden

We are renting our summer house in Sweden.

The house is a traditional Swedish red cottage. It is situated on a large plot of land, with few neighbours and the forest just some meters away.

The house is on an island with a bridge connecting it to the mainland

the surroundings -on Vätö

The path to the lake goes trough the forest The lake Close to our house there is a small lake where the water gets quite warm in summer. It is suitable for families with small children as well. At about 20 minutes walk, or a short drive with the car, you reach the sea. Here the water is colder and it gets deep quite quickly, so it is more suitable for older children and adults. You can also fish. In the evening you can often swim alone in the calm sea You can fish as well or take a walk by the sea It is pure excitement when the ice cream truck passes by This picture shows the north of the island, and you can see that the open sea is not far away. In September and August you can pick wild berries and mushrooms in the nearby forest.

Norrtälje

There are quite many things to do close to our summer house. The town of Norrtälje is very beautiful with many little cafes and cute cobble stoned streets. The town is close to the sea, so one can take a boat out in the archipelago. Or have dinner at the small ship which lays in the harbor permanently. The restaurant is very good. One can also go for hikes in the forests surrounding the town, visit some of the old country side mansions, visit a local farm and perhaps have a cake in one of their cafes with home made goodies, swim in one of the many lakes or the sea, visit Stockholm or Uppsala which are only an hour away and many more things. the small tivoli in Stockholm Stockholm The old town in Stockholm Cafe by the lake at Barnens ö.
